Mark Nakamura, MSc, MFA

Mark Nakamura is Interim Dean, Business BC, at Yorkville University’s New Westminster campus. He brings over a decade of experience in post-secondary teaching, program leadership, and international education, having led institutional internationalization strategy through the development of global partnerships, graduate pathways, and cross-cultural learning initiatives.

Mark conceived and launched a graduate program in Global Leadership and led it from design through implementation as a cornerstone for international collaboration. He developed student mobility partnerships, graduate studies pathways, and dual credential programs spanning Asia, Europe, and North America. He also designed and led the Japan Field School, bringing experiential international learning directly to students, and facilitated workshops on intercultural awareness and inclusive education for faculty and staff. His work in international program development encompassed curriculum mapping, budget oversight, and operational planning, with a consistent focus on academic alignment and sustainable growth.

Mark holds an MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris and an MFA in New Media, and is currently completing a Doctor of Business Administration at Toulouse Business School. His interdisciplinary background shapes how he leads, with curiosity and a belief that the best learning happens at the intersection of disciplines.
