Dr. Pauline O’Brien

Dr. Pauline O’Brien (she/they) is a clinical supervisor, educator, and researcher with a deep commitment to trauma-informed and integrative mind–body healing. Their work weaves together Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic approaches, and gender- and neurodivergent-affirming practices to gently support people navigating trauma, dissociation, and inspires spaces for transformational healing.

Dr. Pauline brings a rich and diverse professional background to her work. She has lived and worked in rural northern Canada in relationship with Indigenous communities, worked on interprofessional primary healthcare teams, as well as in urban centers providing shelter-based emergency mental health services within a hospital-diversion model of care. These experiences continue to shape her values of cultural humility, accessibility, and ethical care.

Through her teaching and supervision, Dr. Pauline is passionate about supporting counsellors and supervisors to grow their skills with integrity, curiosity, and compassion. She designs training programs grounded in cultural safety, critical pedagogy, and reflective practice. Since April 2022, she has served as an adjunct professor at Yorkville University and is presently Course Lead for the PSYC 6104 Biopsychosocial course.
