Dr. Karen Mason, DCP, MACP, MN, BSN, RN, RCC, ACS, is an educator and clinician with over 15 years of experience in post-secondary education. She holds a Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing Education from the University of Victoria.
As an educator, Dr. Mason is committed to fostering inclusive and compassionate learning environments that value the diverse perspectives students bring to their professional development. Her teaching emphasizes reflection, collaboration, and the thoughtful integration of theory and practice.
In her clinical work, Dr. Mason focuses on counselling veterans and first responders, supporting individuals navigating trauma, operational stress, and life transitions through evidence-informed and holistic approaches. Her professional interests include trauma-informed care, integrative mental health, and mind-body wellness.
Outside of her professional roles, Karen identifies as a proud parent, loving partner, devoted friend, guardian of pets, athlete, amateur musician, and mediocre cook.
