Rupal Shah, PhD, CA, M.Com
Dr. Rupal Shah is academician with more than two decades of experience in higher education and academic administration. She is also an accounting professional with expertise in taxation, financial reporting, and business management. Throughout her career, Dr. Shah has combined academic excellence with industry expertise. She earned Chartered Accountant degree from Institute of Chartered accountants of India in 2004 and is presently enrolled for CPA Canada. She earned Masters in 2005 and a PhD (Accountancy) in 2015 from the University of Mumbai, India. After moving to Canada in 2019 she worked at Hanson college in several roles like instructor, program coordinator, program chair and Dean for business program where she provided academic leadership, faculty mentorship, curriculum oversight, and taught a variety of business and hospitality courses. She was recognized multiple times with Best Instructor Awards based on student feedback. She currently serves as Senior Accountant at JVS General Contractors Ltd. in Ontario, where she oversees full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, payroll, taxation, and compliance activities. She has contributed to various academic conferences and educational initiatives throughout her academic career. She is co-author for two textbooks and multiple research paper publications. Her doctoral research focused on Demergers in India – a case study of Reliance Industries Ltd., reflecting her commitment to collaborate industry with academics. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Shah enjoys socializing, playing table tennis, travelling and spending quality time with family and friends.
