Nora brings over 20 years of experience in higher education and leadership and has a passion for transformational change that empowers people. Throughout her career, Nora has led teams and facilitated growth in institutions undergoing significant change.
Currently, Nora is the Vice President, Education & Training at Aurora College where she oversees all post-secondary and trades programming, including the Schools of Business & Leadership and Arts & Science, as well as the Centre for Learning and Teaching Innovation. Prior to Aurora College, Nora worked at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC), where she spearheaded a comprehensive change initiative to redesign, implement, and evaluate a competency-based approach to municipal police training in the province.
Nora has also held various positions at The University of British Columbia (UBC), including Program Manager of Problem Based Learning in the UBC medical school, Graduate Student Certificate Program in Higher Education Coordinator, and Instructional Skills Workshop Facilitator. She served as a Sessional Instructor at UBC, the Institute of Indigenous Government, and University of the Fraser Valley.
Nora holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from The University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from the University of Guelph.
Since August 2022, Nora has overseen post-secondary programming at Aurora College, empowering staff to deliver relevant and meaningful education and reconciliation actions rooted in strong connections to Northern land, tradition, community, and people. Her approach aligns well with Yorkville University’s model of leading educational innovations to support diverse learners. She has a passion for creating educational opportunities that are engaging and transformative for students and is dedicated to supporting the growth of applied learning opportunities. Nora is excited to contribute to the continued success and presence of Yorkville University in British Columbia.
