Dr. Ryan is a passionate and approachable educator who brings a rich blend of academic knowledge and real-world experience to his teaching. With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, master’s degrees in Counseling and Industrial Counseling, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, he is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) and a Canadian-certified Counselor (CCC). His early training in adult addiction, aging, and child development continues to guide his compassionate and client-centered approach. He currently works with children and youth facing a wide range of challenges, including trauma, mood disorders, dissociation, and bipolar disorder, drawing from modalities such as CBT, EMDR, narrative therapy, and family systems approach. His experience extends to working with adults, couples, families, and First Nations communities. In academic settings, Dr. Ryan has served in roles from dean to curriculum specialist, always driven by a love of learning and a belief in collaborative growth. He values open dialogue, critical thinking, and creating a welcoming, respectful space where students feel supported and inspired.
