Yorkville University’s Interior Decorating Associate Diploma program is now officially recognized by “the most influential association for decorators and design industry professionals in Canada.”
As a recognized institution of the Decorators & Designers Association of Canada (DDA), Yorkville’s online Interior Decorating students are now eligible for Student Memberships with the DDA – a Canadian professional association that aims to elevate the decorating and design industry through education, events, training, advocacy and community building.
“A student membership is a great opportunity to network with working professionals, attend association and supplier events, and stay current in the industry,” mentions Sabrina Di Maio, Yorkville’s Interior Decorating Program Coordinator.

As a DDA-recognized institution, Yorkville’s Interior Decorating program is eligible to award one graduating student per year a free Accredited Membership to the DDA, courtesy of the association’s Student Award Program.
Accredited Memberships with the DDA include a number of additional significant benefits, including CEU Accreditation, business listing in DDA Canada’s ‘Find a Decorator’ directory, access to group liability insurance (which can save members up to 20 per cent on insurance), and association voting rights, among many other perks.
Selected by a faculty committee, the membership will be awarded to the student deemed to have made the most significant contribution to the decorating industry.
Another important opportunity now available to Yorkville’s Interior Decorating students is their eligibility to enter the DDA’s annual Decorating and Design Competition – which currently allows students to enter one project in each of two categories: Universal Kitchen or Bathroom Design; and General Student Project.
