MACP grads bring IRIS Community Counselling to bloom in Sackville, NB

Yorkville University alumni Marie Reinsborough-Wadden and Krista Royama discuss their joint journey from classroom teaching to counselling in the town of Sackville, New Brunswick. Both graduates of Yorkville’s Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, the pair have teamed up to launch IRIS Community Counselling and Consultation, where one of their more exciting partnerships has seen them join forces with EOS Eco-Energy to provide counselling for youth troubled by the oftentimes “emotional issue” of climate change.

Yorkville University was well represented at the world’s largest gathering of education researchers earlier this month in Toronto. Billed as a five-day showcase for “groundbreaking, innovative studies”, the prestigious 2019 American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting took place April 5 to 9 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, drawing upwards of 25,000 educational professionals from around the world – among them, Yorkville’s own Dr. Ellyn Lyle.

For Reeth Mazumder, the decision to leap directly from screenwriting studies into a business bachelors felt like a natural “evolution.  The multi-tasking Bollywood star recently wrapped up her Writing for Film & TV Diploma at Toronto Film School and didn’t waste any time enrolling in Yorkville University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), with a specialization in Project Management Join Reeth as she tours the campus and talks about her choice to study in the BBA.
