Principles of Health Psychology / Behavioral Medicine
This course will concentrate on the fundamental aspects of the biopsychosocial approach to health and disease. Topics will include bio-behavioral pathways linking stress and health, models of health behavior change, as well as the basics of stress management. Students will develop an understanding of the plausible mechanisms linking psychological / behavioral factors to the pathophysiology of disease and gain insight into the ways that interventions may interrupt these processes.
