Yorkville University Joins the BC Transfer System

August 30, 2018Yorkville University is now a member of the British Columbia Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT), making it easier for students to transfer into Yorkville University to finish their post-secondary education.

“Part of our mission at Yorkville University is a firm belief in student mobility to allow students to achieve their personal educational goals. To facilitate this, we need collaborative and collegial relationships within the transfer system. Being active and productive members of BCCAT will allow us to be even more engaged in such important endeavours” said Dr. Daren Hancott, Campus Provost and Vice President Academic at Yorkville University’s Vancouver Campus.

BCCAT oversees the BC Transfer System, which is made up of BC public institutions, some BC private institutions and two out-of-province institutions. Yorkville’s application for membership was approved in June 2018 and acceptance means Yorkville’s courses are now included in the BCCAT’s BC Transfer Guide database.

“Membership in the BC Transfer System is an important step in Yorkville University being recognized within the province,” said Dr. Ted James, Yorkville’s BC Registrar.  “Membership signals to students and other stakeholders that Yorkville is recognized through a quality assurance process.”

Founded in 2004, Yorkville University has degree-granting status in British Columbia, Ontario and New Brunswick. The Vancouver campus, located at 1090 West Georgia Street, was opened in 2017.  The school currently offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in BC with specializations in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Energy Management, and Project Management.
