Melinda Debergh combines her vast experience in healthcare, her studies of spirituality and now her Master of Education in Adult Education to help others navigate life’s journey.

“What I do is life coaching and mentoring people as a as a Certified Life Mastery Coach.” Debergh said. “Because of my credentials, especially now with the Master if Education, I can help people with their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and intellectual journey.”

Debergh, who lives in Chatam, Ontario, is a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years experience of direct clinical experience. She transitioned to teaching in health sciences 15 years ago, at the urging of her own professors.

“At first they had to shove me into the classroom because I was petrified,” Debergh said. “But I engaged and I was good at it.”

Debergh decided to enroll in the Master of Education in Adult Education at Yorkville University in order to take her work teaching and facilitating to the next level, but she said she quickly realized the skills and knowledge she acquired in the program were widely applicable.

Her Master of Education in Adult Education, Debergh said, has helped her a great deal in her teaching, but also in her work as an RN Facilitator and a certified life master coach. As a life coach, Debergh marries her work in health care with her master of Education and studies in theology, to help people who are struggling with life’s choices, mental health or addictions issues.

“Once I got going in the program I realized it is a lot bigger and more in-depth than what I had envisioned,” Debergh said. “It touched on a whole bunch of areas that I didn’t expect, but areas that will really help in my own business as a life coach.”

Debergh graduated from Yorkville University with her Masters of Education in Adult Education in December 2014.

“That is the best course I have ever taken in my life,” Debergh said. “It was phenomenal.”

Personally, Debergh, 55, said her Master of Education is the icing on her cake in terms of education and training.
