Questions About Graduation Ceremony? Here is Everything You Need to Know!

As Yorkville University’s 2015 graduation ceremony approaches, we know students, attending and non-attending, have questions about the details. Well Kady McDonnell, the Registration Coordinator at Yorkville University, has the answers. Kady compiled the most common questions she has been receiving about the big day on June 26.

Where is the ceremony taking place?
The ceremony is taking place at the Delta Fredericton in the Grand Ballroom. There is a block of rooms for students who would like to stay at the Delta. Just let them know you are with Yorkville University when you make your reservation!

 

When/what time is the ceremony taking place?
The ceremony will start at 2:00pm on Friday, June 26th. When it wraps up there will be finger foods and beverages as well as the chance to mingle in the ballroom afterwards.

 

I want more time to mingle with everyone, is there anything else planned?
Yes! At 7:00 p.m. students and their guests are encouraged to join us at the James Joyce Pub in downtown Fredericton for a chance to get together! Staff and faculty will also be there so it will be a great opportunity to meet-up with everyone. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.

 

Will I be able to meet the Dean of my program or my instructors?
The Deans from all three programs will be at the ceremony. Not all instructors will be present, but there will be a few from each program. There will also be a lot of Yorkville staff whom you may have worked or communicated with throughout your time here!

 

I am unable to attend the ceremony but would still like look in. Is this possible?
The entire event will be live-streamed! Anyone who would like to take a peak can check in at 2:00pm AST. The link for the livestream will be sent out shortly!

 

I would love some pictures of the ceremony but am worried about the photography skills of my guests!
Don’t worry! We will have a professional photographer at the ceremony capturing every moment. The pictures will be available for purchase directly through the photographer. Once they are ready for purchase I will send on the contact information so you can order any pictures of interest from the ceremony. There will also be group pictures taken after the ceremony of all the graduates.

 

If I have not already confirmed my attendance, can I still come to the 2015 ceremony?
Unfortunately, due to logistical reasons, the deadline for confirming your attendance to the 2015 ceremony has passed. However, you will be welcome at our next ceremony and we will make an announcement as soon as that date has been decided upon!
