The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) recently announced they will accept graduates from all governmentally recognized institutions as eligible to apply for the Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation.
With this decision, graduates from Yorkville University’s Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) who are interested in applying for the CCC designation were eligible to do so on May 1st.
During the past several weeks, Dr. Roberta Neault, MACP Associate Dean, has worked with CCPA to match MACP course skills and competencies to those required by the CCC designation. Since receiving approval under the New Brunswick Degree Granting Act to offer a graduate degree in counselling, now more than a decade ago, the MACP program has grown in reputation and influence within the Canadian counselling profession. In large part, this reputation and influence are attributable to the career successes of MACP graduates.
There is no doubt that the CCC designation will further add to the career profiles of MACP graduates, and in turn, to the institutional profile of Yorkville University.
