Dr. Roberta Neault, Associate Dean, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences Retires

 

On August 31, 2017, Dr. Roberta Neault will retire from her position as Associate Dean, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences. Roberta was one of the first faculty members associated with the Master of  Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP). She began teaching for Yorkville University in 2004, and in a short time, assumed the role of Core Faculty before her current assignment as Associate Dean. Some of Roberta’s important achievements in her 13-year tenure with Yorkville University include:

  • Prominent contributions in the successful 5-year review of the 2013 MACP program by the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission (MPHEC)
  • Currency of the MACP curriculum facilitated by her responsibilities as Chair of the MACP Curriculum Review Committee
  • Co-development of a Program Advisory Committee with diverse coast-t o coast representation
  • Development of a comprehensive MACP Faculty Review process
  • Assistance in the submission process to have the MACP program recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
  • Acceptance of the MACP program by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)
  • Creator and editor of the MACP Connections Newsletter
  • Co-development of the Career Development specialization in the proposed modifications to the Master of Education degree

Initiation of a partnership between Yorkville University and Life Strategies Ltd. to offer continuing professional education resulting in the Asia Pacific Career Development Award (2017) for Outstanding Educator of Career Professionals

 

Although Roberta will be retiring, she will remain active in our community and she will continue to support the University through teaching, course development, course coordination, and other special projects as they arise. Yorkville University thanks Roberta for her significant contributions to the school!
