  • Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada

    Yorkville University’s Bachelor of Business Administration students who obtain the minimum required grade by CPA in certain Business courses are able to bypass the corresponding/equivalent CPA preparatory courses, as approved by the CPA Program Transfer Credit Guide, given here. CPA specifies the minimum required grade to be 50 percent for all non-core courses and 60 percent for all core courses. Please be aware that a minimum GPA of 65 percent or higher is required for entry into P E P, as calculated by averaging grades associated with all core P E P courses.

    Canadian Payroll Association

    • Qualified payroll professionals are in demand and are valued by employers for their quantitative training and compliance knowledge.
    • Earn some of the course prerequisites towards certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and Certified Payroll Manager (CPM).
    • Students who successfully complete certain BBA degree courses as part of their studies can earn credit towards these professional certifications.

    Project Management Institute

    • Certified project managers are sought after in a variety of industries to manage complex projects across business functions.
    • Earn some of the eligibility requirements towards certification as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
    • CAPM Eligibility: Students can meet the 23-hour project management education requirement by completing one BBA project management course, and can write the CAPM certification exam before graduating.
    • PMP Eligibility: Students can meet the 35-hour project management education requirement by completing two BBA project management courses, and will further need only 4,500 hours of project experience instead of 7,500 hours to be able to write the PMP certification exam.

    • The BBA Energy Management program is recognized by FortisBC, a leading natural gas and electricity provider in British Columbia.
    • Graduates of the program fulfill the educational requirements to apply to become a FortisBC Energy Specialist.

    Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP)

    • Certified professionals are sought after in the supply chain industry, which is projected to create 50,000 new jobs over the next five years.
      The accreditation agreement with Supply Chain Canada expedites the process of obtaining a CSCMP designation for graduates of the BBA program.
      Students who obtain a grade of B or higher in their BBA receive advanced standing towards five modules and two workshop courses of the CSCMP program.

    Project Management Institute – Toronto

    Project Management Institute (PMI) Toronto offers Yorkville University students studying toward their BBA degree in Project Management a number of perks, including: a customized mentorship program; volunteering opportunities within various PMI-organized community or industry initiatives; complimentary event registrations at PMI Toronto events, and assistance in securing both guest speakers and sponsors for their capstone projects.

  • Why should I apply to Yorkville University?

    • Is Yorkville University approved to offer degree programs in Canada?

      Yorkville University is officially approved by the provincial governments of New Brunswick, Ontario, and British Columbia to offer degree programs. Additionally, Yorkville University is an approved DLI in both the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia.

      • What degrees are offered at Yorkville University’s campuses?

        Each campus offers different degree programs. Yorkville University has two physical campuses in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Toronto, Ontario, and a virtual campus for online students in Fredericton, New Brunswick. You can learn more about our programs here.

        • How do I apply?

          • Do I need a study permit to attend Yorkville University?

            All international students must obtain a study permit before classes start. You can find all the information about eligibility, processes, and documents on the Government of Canada website.

            • Can I apply for a PGWP if I study at Yorkville University?

              International students who continuously study full-time on campus for the majority of their courses and graduate may apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which can be valid for up to three years and offers a path to permanent residency status in Canada. A student’s spouse or common-law partner may also apply for an open work permit. Please see here for more information.

              • How is it possible to shorten my program duration?

                Yorkville University operates year-round with four academic terms and intake periods. To shorten their program duration, students can study for four terms each year (instead of three) by not taking an approved term break.

                If you have previous post-secondary education, you can also apply for transfer credits from past college or university courses toward completion of the program, which can further shorten your study time.

                • Can I substitute on-campus courses with online courses?

                  You may be able to substitute on-campus courses with online courses depending on availability.

                  However, for international students who would like to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada, at least 50% of total courses must be taken on campus with full-time student status.

                  • What is it like to study on campus?

                    Studying on campus is a great way to make new friends and develop lifelong relationships with other students. Yorkville University has a vibrant international student community.

                    Students who study on campus also benefit from small class sizes, engaging faculty, and team-building assignments. Many faculty can also offer career advice and help students develop networking opportunities.

                    Our on-campus programs are offered in Vancouver and Toronto, which are exciting, multicultural cities that offer incredible student life experiences.

                    • Can I work part time and still complete my degree?

                      During study periods, your study permit may allow you to work up to 20 hrs. per week or up to 40 hrs. per week during study breaks.                       • How much are living expenses?

                        Living expenses will vary depending on each student’s needs. Both Vancouver and Toronto are cities that offer more affordable living expenses and a higher quality of life than many cities in the U.S. and the U.K.

                        Please note that below are approximate estimates in Canadian dollars. Each student will need to evaluate their own unique costs and budget accordingly.

                        • Does Yorkville University have on-campus accommodation?

                          You can find fully furnished apartments, private rooms, or shared rooms, with all utilities included, with our off-campus housing partner 4Stay. Please contact an Admissions Advisor for further information.

                          • Do I need health insurance?

                            Yes. All international students, who study in our on-campus programs, are automatically enrolled in a mandatory Health Insurance that renews yearly. You can learn more here.

                            • Does Yorkville University offer any scholarships?

                              While we do not offer scholarships to international students, we are committed to helping you evaluate different financial aid options and payment schedules. Please contact an Admissions Advisor for further information.

                              • Can I apply for Canadian provincial student loans?

                                Only domestic students are eligible to apply to Canadian provincial student loan programs such as the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) or StudentAid BC.
